LOOKING FOR FUNDING? Reach out to a nursing home in your area and let them know you would like to do your training at The Rapha School. As a reminder, students who come from a nursing home have the full cost of their tuition and testing paid for. You can find more information about that on the Department of Education website.
The NATCEP program consists of 41.5 hours of lecture, 30 hours of lab divided and 48.5 hours of clinical divided over 15 days. You will have 8 Days in class and 7 days at the clinical site. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible to take the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Competency exam. The Rapha School is a licensed exam center and the exam is held on location unless otherwise stated.
Admission Requirements1. Admission Application form complete in full.
2. Physical form completed in full no more than 1 year prior to the program start date. More information can be found on the application page. 3. Evidence of a negative 2-step Mantoux or negative QuantiFeron®-TB Gold. The second Mantoux must be administered between 7-12 days of the first test. This must be completed prior to the program start date. 4. Show photo ID as proof of PA residency. If you have not been a PA resident for at least 2 years you must submit an FBI report.** 5. Submit payment of tuition or provide evidence of contract with nursing facility or other program that provides tuition payment. 6. A Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) report from the PA State Police will be performed by The Rapha School***. The cost for this is included in your tuition. If you have already had a CHRI performed in the last 12 months prior to the program start date you are welcome to provide it however no refund for the cost of the report will be given. Program CostTuition & Fees for the NATCEP program total $1300. This includes your workbook, lab supplies, and CHRI (criminal record check).
Scrubs are NOT provided. Students must wear solid colour scrubs during clinical experiences. These should be laundered and wrinkle free prior to each clinical experience. Shoes must have a non-skid sole (sneaker or similar type) closed toe and closed back. Clogs or Crocs are not permitted for clinical. Your state competency exam fee is NOT included in the tuition price. The cost for the exam is $135. Long-term nursing care facilities are responsible for the full payment of training and testing costs for candidates employed or offered employment at the time they start the nurse aide training program. A candidate who does not have an employment relationship with a long-term care nursing facility at the time they start a NATCEP and personally incur the cost for training and testing is eligible for reimbursement if they become employed by a long-term care nursing facility within twelve (12) months of completing the nurse aide training program. ***If you have a record in PA please let us know as processing times can take longer.
The Rapha School cannot guarantee processing times for CHRI's or FBI clearances.
