APPLICATION ARE OPEN FOR EVENING CLASSES. START DATE JANUARY 2025
We offer two ways to take the Practical Nursing program. Day classes and evening classes. The day program is 1500 hours in 47 weeks of instruction that is spread over 11 months. The evening program is also 1500 hours however this is taken over 78 weeks of instruction in 18 months. Both day and evening programs follow the same curriculum. PN is divided into three levels, each level is divided between in class theory lectures and clinical hours. Class is held on location at The Rapha School, clinical hours are held at an assisted living or personal care home, and clinical hours held at a hospital. Upon graduation from the program, you will be eligible to take the NCLEX PN exam.
Admission Requirements
- Completed PN Admission Application.
- Must be seventeen years of age or older.
- Demonstrates proficiency in English. 1
- Graduate of an accredited high school, GED, or equivalent. 2
- Received a satisfactory score on the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). 3 4
- Evidence of good mental and physical health determined by a pre-entrance Physical Exam.
- Personal qualifications including a genuine interest in people and motivation for nursing as evaluated by the following:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation
- Essay answering the prompts; “Why I wish to choose nursing as a career path”, “Why I feel The Rapha School is a good fit for me”. At least 500 word count.
- Interview with the Director
- Satisfy clinical site health and safety requirements. Due to the nature of the Practical Nursing curriculum, all students must rotate through all clinical agencies, acute care hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. Students will not be admitted to or be allowed to progress through the program if they cannot fulfill these objectives of the program.
Final acceptance or rejection is based upon the completion/results of admission requirements and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, marital status, veteran status, or age in its activities, programs or employment practices in accordance with federal and state statutes and regulations.

2 The Rapha School administration will investigate any diploma or GED certificate in which they think may not be legitimate. Investigation will include but is not limited to contacting the school who issued the document as well as confirm with the department or agency where the school is located that the school is recognized as a provider of secondary school education.
3 A satisfactory score is considered an average grade of 50% in each of the Reading, Math, and English sections. A student not achieving the satisfactory score will have their test results reviewed by the Director and a determination will be made as to whether or not the grade will be accepted.
4 Exemptions for the TEAS may be given if: Student has received a satisfactory score on a similar test such as the HESI. OR Student has successfully completed at least one full semester in an Associate program or higher, as determined by providing a transcript.

3. ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam. Visit the TEAS page. Please read all information on the page and book your test using the Google appointment feature found at the bottom.
4. Submit two letters of recommendation. Letters typically come from previous employers, colleagues, or teachers. Your reference should discuss why you are a good fit for the nursing program, and any professional or academic qualities you have demonstrated that will help you succeed. (No relatives, at least one work reference if applicable)

5. Submit essay answering the prompts; “Why I wish to choose nursing as a career path”, “Why I feel The Rapha School is a good fit for me”. At least 500 word count.

6. Applicant interview. Once all the above items have been completed/received, you will be invited to interview with the Director of the program.

Program CostsUpon becoming a successful applicant and being accepted into the program you will be required to pay a Seat Holding Deposit of $120. This deposit is non-refundable and will secure your seat in the class, it is not included in the tuition.
DAY PROGRAM TUITION Tuition & Fees for the day program is $22,947. This is the total cost for the full length of the program. The tuition covers all textbooks, uniforms, skills pack, CPR certification, UWorld test prep, criminal record check, and costs associated with your licensing exam. Cost Breakdown EVENING PROGRAM TUITION Tuition & Fees for the evening program is $24,552. This is the total cost for the full length of the program. The tuition covers all textbooks, uniforms, skills pack, CPR certification, UWorld test prep, criminal record checks, and costs associated with your licensing exam. Tuition for the evening program is higher due to the increased length of the program. A number of operational costs incurred by the institution are per month costs and therefore the higher tuition is based on the greater length of the program. Cost Breakdown PERSONAL LAPTOP Included in your tuition is a personal laptop computer. This will be provided to you during the first term and is to be used to assist you in completing school work. Your laptop is your property. We will not perform any service or maintenance and we will not replace it in the case of it breaking. If you already have a personal laptop that meets all system requirements and you would like to use instead we will remove this cost from your tuition. You will be required to bring your laptop to class to be used for online testing or skills labs. You will be given notice on these days.
